OTT@CAR: Canes fans are embracing 'Thor' celebration

The pairing between the Carolina Hurricanes and "Stormbreaker" is just too perfect.

The team, which has started a tradition of celebrating home wins with fans in what has come to be known as the "Storm Surge" this season, struck a chord with fans by channelling a
scene from "Avengers: Infinity War" back on Jan. 4

During it, the team made a circle around Hurricanes forward Brock McGinn, who slammed his stick into the ground much like the way Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, does with his axe, Stormbreaker, during the final battle of the outrageously popular superhero movie.
Around Raleigh, it has really caught on.
During the broadcast on Friday, the Thor-style celly was showed being re-enacted by toddlers at home, by youth hockey teams and even by some Lego figures.
