Hurricanes strike quickly in second and third, beat WHL-leading Chiefs 2-1 @NHLdotcom

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - The Lethbridge Hurricanes scored quick goals in the second and third periods and held on to beat the Spokane Chiefs 2-1 in Western Hockey League action Wednesday.

Cam Braes scored 10 seconds into the second period, and Zach Boychuck gave the Hurricanes (20-9-1-1) a 2-0 lead 30 seconds into the third.

Tyler Johnson scored in the third for the WHL-leading Chiefs (22-5-1-2), but they couldn't get anything else past Hurricanes goaltender Michael Maniago.

Maniago made 19 saves for the win, while Dustin Tokarski stopped 26 shots for the Chiefs.
