Haydn Fleury
signed a two-year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. It has an average annual value of $1.3 million.

The 24-year-old defenseman was a restricted free agent who had a salary arbitration hearing scheduled for Nov. 8. He scored 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 45 games with the Hurricanes last season and two goals in eight Stanley Cup Playoff games.
"Haydn made a huge leap in his development last season and established himself as an everyday NHL defenseman," Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell said. "He was very dependable late in the regular season and in the playoffs, and we look forward to him continuing his development into an elite NHL defenseman."
Selected by Carolina in the first round (No. 7) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Fleury has scored 23 points (four goals, 19 assists) in 132 regular-season games and two points in 17 playoff games.
