RALEIGH -- The Carolina Hurricanes will try to continue their positive play when they host the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday.
The Hurricanes lost 5-4 in a shootout at the St. Louis Blues on Saturday. The loss followed a stretch of three wins in four games.
"Going into St. Louis, scoring four times and never trailing, there are a lot of positives to take out of that game," Hurricanes coach Bill Peters said. "Definitely a step in the right direction."
Colorado, which did not skate Tuesday morning, lost to the Washington Capitals 2-1 on Monday. The Avalanche beat Carolina 4-3 on Nov. 22 in Denver. The Hurricanes held a 3-1 lead in that game.
"We played well in Colorado and let it slip away," Peters said. "We need to be better here tonight. We need to be good against a team that played last night. I expect us to get off to a good start."
