Hurricanes recall Bayda again, this time to replace Cole @NHLdotcom

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -The Carolina Hurricanes recalled Ryan Bayda from Albany on Thursday, three days after they sent him down to their American Hockey League affiliate.

Bayda is joining the Hurricanes for the fourth time this season, and this time is replacing Erik Cole, who is on injured reserve with an injury to a hip muscle.

Bayda was called up last week on an emergency basis to replace Cory Stillman and was sent down to Albany on Monday.

He has one goal and one assist in nine games with the Hurricanes.

General manager Jim Rutherford had said the team was looking to either make a trade or recall a player from the minors to replace Cole, who is expected to miss at least two weeks after injuring his hip during pre-game warmups before Tuesday's loss to Atlanta.

Cole has 25 goals and 26 assists in 57 games this season.
