Hurricanes blow away Hitmen 5-1 in battle of Central Division powers @NHLdotcom

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - The Lethbridge Hurricanes put some breathing room between them and Calgary in the Western Hockey League's Central Division after a convincing 5-1 win over the Hitmen on Wednesday.

The Hurricanes lead the Central with 48 points, with the Hitmen three points back. The Hurricanes blew open a close game with third-period goals from Mitch Versteeg, Mike Wuchterl and Jesse Craige.

Carter Ashton and Mitch Fadden also scored for Lethbridge (23-10-1-1).

Keith Seabrook replied for Calgary (21-11-1-2).

Michael Maniago made 20 saves for Lethbridge. Dan Spence stopped 23 shots for Calgary.
