CRANBROOK, B.C. - Spencer Humphries scored the winner in overtime, and added an assist, as the Calgary Hitmen defeated the host Kootenay Ice 6-5 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.
Jimmy Bubnick scored twice for the Hitmen (43-25-3), who moved past the Medicine Hat Tigers into third in the Eastern Conference standings, Victor Rask had a goal and an assist while Jaynen Rissling and Greg Chase added single goals.
Alex Gogolev and Brooks Macek each had three assists.
Joey Leach scored once and set up two more for the Ice (36-25-10), who are losers of their past three and sit seventh in the East, Jesse Ismond and Sam Reinhart each had a goal and an assist as Elgin Pearce scored the other.
Brandon Glover started in goal for Calgary but was pulled after allowing three goals on nine shots.
Chris Driedger picked up the win after stopping 15 of 17 shots in relief.
Nathan Lieuwen allowed all six goals on 35 shots against in a losing effort.
Calgary went 3 for 7 on the power play as Kootenay scored once on seven chances with theman advantage.
