KELOWNA, B.C. - Derek Hulak and Stefan Elliott both scored their 12th goals of the season for Saskatoon as the Blades jumped out to an early 3-0 lead en route to a 4-2 victory over the Kelowna Rockets in WHL action on Wednesday night.
Walker Wintoneak and Mike Reich also scored for Saskatoon (21-7-2-0), which is now 3-0 in its five-game B.C. Division road trip. On Tuesday, the Blades edged the Kamloops Blazers 4-3 in overtime. The Blades visit Chilliwack on Friday, then Vancouver on Saturday.
Tyson Barrie, with his seventh goal, and Stepan Novotny, with his eighth, replied for Kelowna (17-11-0-0), which had a five-game winning streak come to an end. During that stretch, the Rockets outscored their opponents 24-6. Kelowna plays host to Regina (17-12-1-3) on Friday, then Chilliwack (9-16-2-2) on Saturday.
Adam Morrison made 27 saves for the Blades, while Kris Lazaruk turned aside 15 shots for the Rockets, who scored twice in the third to make it interesting.
