SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Rouyn-Noranda is firmly in the driver's seat in its series with Saint John.
Hugo Carpentier scored three goals as the Huskies pounded the Sea Dogs 8-1 to take a 3-0 lead in their best-of-seven QMJHL series Tuesday.
Yannick Riendeau had two goals and four assists for Rouyn-Noranda, while Alex Emond, Maxime Macenauer and Pier-Luc Giguere also scored.
Alexandre Leduc replied with the lone goal for Saint John.
Rouyn-Noranda goalie Maxim Gougeon made 28 saves for the win, while Travis Fullerton and Robert Mayer combined for 26 stops at the other end.
