Hughesman scores in shootout to lead Americans to 5-4 win over Blazers

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Left-winger Adam Hughesman's shootout goal gave the Tri-City Americans a 5-4 Western Hockey League victory over the Kamloops Blazers on Tuesday night.

Brett Plouffe, Johnny Lazo, Adam Hughesman and Justin Feser scored for the Americans (9-3-0-0), the latter forcing overtime with a goal at 19:27 of the third period. The Americans trailed 4-1 going into the third period.

Uriah Machuga, Kenton Dulle, Dalibor Bortnak and Brendan Ranford scored for Kamloops (4-8-0-2) in regulation time.

Kamloops goaltender Jon Groenheyde stopped 36 shots, while the Americans' Chet Pickard turned aside 23.
