Hugh Jessiman scores only goal of the shootout as Lake Erie downs Hamilton 2-1 @NHLdotcom

HAMILTON - Hugh Jessiman scored the only goal of the shootout Wednesday as the Lake Erie Monsters defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 2-1 in the American Hockey League.

Ryan Stoa and scored in regulation for Lake Erie (12-13-2), which got 27 saves from Cedrick Desjardins through regulation and overtime.

Alexander Avtsin replied for Hamilton (10-13-3). Nathan Lawson stopped 22 shots in defeat.

Jessiman won it with a goal in the fourth round of the shootout, beating Lawson with a shot low to the glove side.

Avtsin pushed the puck past Desjardins on the power play at 18:07 of the first to give Hamilton a 1-0 lead.

Lake Erie tied it at 19:08 of the second on a 5-on-3 power play. Stoa beat Lawson of a one-timer from Tyson Barrie.
