MONTREAL -- Jonathan Huberdeau missed the Florida Panthers game against the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday with a foot injury.
Huberdeau took a shot off the foot but finished the Panthers' game Friday against the Washington Capitals, taking part in the shootout that gave Florida a 3-2 victory.
Huberdeau, the 2012-13 Calder Trophy winner as the NHL's top rookie, was wearing a walking boot in the media lounge while his teammates prepared to face the Canadiens. He said he hoped to play in Florida's next game Tuesday on the road against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Jesse Winchester, who was scratched against the Capitals, took Huberdeau's spot in the lineup.
The Panthers and Canadiens each will turn to their backup goaltender Sunday at Bell Centre.
With Panthers starting goalie Tim Thomas on injured reserve with a lower-body injury, Scott Clemmensen will get his second consecutive start. He made 23 saves in a 3-2 shootout win against the Capitals on Friday, giving the Panthers four wins in their past five games.
The Canadiens will counter with Peter Budaj one night after starter Carey Price shut out the New York Islanders on the road in a 1-0 overtime win.
Montreal did not hold a morning skate Sunday, but announced that Ryan White will be back in the lineup after sitting out Saturday. George Parros did not finish the game against the Islanders when he was hurt during a first period fight with Eric Boulton.
Defenseman Francis Bouillon was a healthy scratch for a ninth time in the past 13 games.
