Hrusik scores winner as Slovakia downs Belarus 4-2 at world juniors @NHLdotcom

HELSINKI - Lukas Hrusik scored the winning goal 19 seconds into the third period as Slovakia beat Belarus 4-2 Sunday at the world junior hockey championship.

Slovakia (1-0-0) scored three straight goals after going down 2-1 early in the second period to win its first game at the tournament.

Belarus (0-2-0) suffered two defeats in as many days. The Belarusians were dumped 6-0 by host Finland on Saturday.

Patrick Koch, Filip Lestan and Juraj Siska, also scored for the Slovaks, who face the rival Czech Republic on Monday.

Vadim Malinovski and Ruslan Vasilchuk scored for Belarus.

Adam Huska made 24 saves for Slovakia, while Ivan Kulbakov stopped 35 shots for Belarus.
