Howse ties game in third, wins it in SO as Chilliwack defeats the Cougars 3-2 @NHLdotcom

CHILLIWACK, B.C. - Ryan Howse tied the game in the third period and won it with the lone goal of the shootout as the Chilliwack Bruins beat the Prince George Cougars 3-2 on Friday night in the Western Hockey League.

Howse scored on a power play with under seven minutes remaining in the third to knot the score at 2-2. Kevin Sundher also scored for Chilliwack (17-46-2-5) on a shorthanded penalty shot in the first period.

Brett Connolly reached the 30-goal mark 17 seconds into the game and Marek Viedensky scored the other goal for the Cougars (25-42-0-3).

Mark Friesen made 31 saves for the Bruins, while Prince George netminder Kevin Armstrong stopped 34 shots.
