The Nashville Predators are in search of two more points, as they begin a season-long, five-game homestand tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Tonight's contest is the first of two meetings this season between the two clubs; the Preds will visit the Jackets in March.
The Preds return to Bridgestone Arena with a single point following an overtime loss on Friday night in Chicago. Pekka Rinne made 36 saves against the Blackhawks, but Nashville was only able to get one of their 43 shots past Corey Crawford in a game that left the visitors wanting so much more as they look to make their way back into a Wild Card position.
"It's a huge one point," Rinne said. "We're still right in it, and we're outside looking in, and we can still do it. But there's not a ton of room for error either."

Ellis speaks after returning to the lineup

Preds Associate Captain Ryan Ellis returned to the Nashville lineup on Friday night after missing the previous 20 games due to a concussion. Ellis recorded two shots and two hits in over 23 minutes of ice time in his return.

For the second time this season, the Predators will host Hockey Fights Cancer Night in the mission of the 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund presented by Twice Daily.
As the Predators face the Blue Jackets, special guests from the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt will visit Bridgestone Arena for an extra-special, one-of-a-kind experience. The young hockey fans will enjoy Zamboni rides, visit with that night's referees thanks to Zebras Care, high five the team as they take the ice, catch the game from Pekka Rinne or Matt Duchene's suite and more.
To support the 365 Fund and Hockey Fights Cancer, fans are invited to visit the Foundation area (outside of Section 106/107) to purchase wristbands, magnets, mystery pucks or a brand-new Project 615 "Nashville Fights Cancer" T-shirt. Additionally, a selection of signed Hockey Fights Cancer jerseys, which were worn during warm-ups of the Nov. 2 Hockey Fights Cancer game, will be up for auction. All proceeds will benefit the 365 Fund.
