WASHINGTON (AP) - Basketball is President Barack Obama's sport, but he's still making time to honor a title-winning team that doesn't play on a hardwood floor. And it helps that it's his hometown club.

The Chicago Blackhawks are coming to the White House on March 11 to be honored for their first Stanley Cup since 1961.

After the ceremony, first lady Michelle Obama and pro hockey commissioner Gary Bettman will preside over a street hockey workout and clinic on a rink set up on the South Lawn.

Players from the Blackhawks and the Washington Capitals will work with youngsters. The event is part of the first lady's effort to promote healthy and active living.

Blackhawk players and staff also will visit troops and their families at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
