Holmberg has two goals and an assist,leads Chiefs to 6-1 win over Portland @NHLdotcom

SPOKANE, Wash. - Mitch Holmberg had two goals and an assist as the Spokane Chiefs hammered the Portland Winterhawks 6-1 in Western Hockey League action Sunday.

Mike Aviani also had two goals for Spokane (25-14-6), while Liam Stewart and Dylan Walchuk also scored. Dominik Uher added three assists.

Sven Bartschi replied for Portland (30-14-3).

Mac Engel made 21 saves for Spokane.

Mac Carruth stopped 14 of 19 shots for Portland before being replaced in the second period. Brendan Burke stopped 13 of 14 shots in relief.
