Holden scores in overtime, Falcons beat IceCaps for third straight win @NHLdotcom

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Defenceman Nick Holden scored the overtime winner as the Springfield Falcons edged the St. John's IceCaps 4-3 in American Hockey League action Saturday.

St. John's defenceman Paul Postma scored with 38 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime.

Danny Taylor made 38 saves as the Falcons (6-5-0) won their third straight game, and second straight in overtime. Springfield defeated Hershey 4-3 on Friday night.

"Winning these last two in overtime at home are pretty impressive character wins for our guys," said Springfield coach Rob Riley. "It's really a confidence booster for our players."

Cam Atkinson, Andrew Joudrey and Nick Drazenovic also scored for Springfield.

Jason Jaffray had the other two goals for St. John's (5-2-2), while David Aebischer made 21 saves.
