Hoffman's hat trick leads Sea Dogs over Titan 5-2 in QMJHL @NHLdotcom

Mike Hoffman's hat trick lifted the Saint John Sea Dogs over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 5-2 on Thursday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Hoffman put the Sea Dogs up 2-0, scoring just 10 seconds apart midway through the first period for his fourth and fifth of the season.

Eric Faille and Cameron Critchlow each scored for Acadie-Bathurst (6-7-3) to tie the game 2-2 after one.

Hoffman completed his hat trick on the power play at 11:27 of the second period, giving Saint John a lead it would not relinquish.

In Thursday's other QMJHL game, Victoriaville routed Lewiston 7-0.

At Bathurst, N.B., Danick Gauthier and Nicholas Pard also scored for the Sea Dogs (11-4-1), who went 2-for-4 with the man advantage.

Titan goalie Marc-Antoine Gelinas picked up the win with 16 saves while Nicholas Champion was far busier at the other end, stopping 35 of 40 shots.

Tigres 7 Maineiacs 0

At Victoriaville, Joel Chouinard had two goals and Kevin Poulin made 22 saves for the shutout as the Tigres hammered Lewiston.

Andrej Nestrasil, Olivier Hinse, Maxime Robichaud, Keven Dupont and Yanni Gourde also scored for Victoriaville (8-6-1).

Adrien Lemay stopped 39 shots for the Maineiacs (8-6-0).
