BRAMPTON, Ont. - Cody Hodgson scored a pair of goals, including the power-play winner as the Brampton Battalion skated to a 5-2 win over the Owen Sound Attack in Ontario Hockey League play Sunday afternoon.
Sam Carrick, Stephon Thorne and Kyle Pereira also found the back of the net for the Battalion (24-25-13), who won their third straight game and have a firm hold on fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
Pereira's tally, which came on the man advantage at 19:31 of the middle period rounded out the scoring.
Joey Hishon and Bobby Mignardi replied for Owen Sound (27-30-7). Hishon's marker was a short-handed score. The Attack sit ninth in the OHL West.
Patrick Killeen turned aside 18 of 20 shots for the victory while Scott Stajcer stopped 31 of 36 shots.
The start time was moved to 12 noon from 2 p.m. to accommodate the Olympic men's hockey gold medal game.
