Hodgson scores three goals to lead East over West at OHL all-star game @NHLdotcom

WINDSOR, Ont. - Cody Hodgson had three goals and an assist as the Eastern Conference beat the Western Conference 11-6 in a high-scoring Ontario Hockey League all-star game Wednesday.

The game was played with honorary team captains Adam Graves (West) and Steve Yzerman (East) looking on. Graves, who had his number nine retired on Tuesday in New York by the Rangers, played in the OHL for the Windsor Spitfires while Yzerman, a Detroit Red Wing legend, played for the Peterborough Petes.

The teams split six goals in the first period as Hodgson, PK Subban and Ethan Werek scored for the Eastern Conference while Justin DiBenedetto, Taylor Hall and Greg Nemisz replied for the Western Conference.

While Mike Murphy had to contend with only 14 shots in the Eastern Conference net, Andrew Engelage was peppered with 23 shots at the other end.

Stefan Della Rovere, Alex Hutchings and Hodgson, with his second of the game put the Eastern Conference up by three goals before DiBenedetto replied with his second goal for the Western Conference.

Thomas McCollum replaced Murphy while Engelage gave way to Edward Pasquale midway through the middle period.

The Eastern Conference exploded for five goals in the third period to clinch the victory. Hodgson completed his hat trick and Hutchings and Werek both scored their second goals of the game in the third period. Corey Cowick and Zack Kssian had the Eastern Conference's other third period goals.

DiBenedtto, with his third goal of the game and Nazem Kadri replied for the Western Conference in the final period.

DiBenedetto and Hodgson were named the stars of the game.
