Hodgson scores overtime winner as streaking Brampton beats Plymouth 4-3 @NHLdotcom

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Cody Hodgson's goal with 2:04 remaining in overtime gave the Brampton Battalion a 4-3 win over the Plymouth Whalers in Friday night Ontario Hockey League action at the Compuware Arena.

Brampton (30-14-1-1) led 3-0 in the third period before Plymouth (21-20-5-0) mounted a furious comeback sending the game to the extra period on Chris Terry's goal with 4:28 left.

Hodgson's goal extended his point-scoring streak to 16 games, while leading the Battalion to their sixth win in a row.

Matt Duchene scored two goals for the Battalion, while Evgeny Grachev had one goal and two assists, including a slick pass to find Hodgson streaking down the right wing in overtime on the game-winner.

Terry paced the Whalers with a goal and two helpers, while Joe Gaynor and Matt Caria added singles.

Brampton goaltender Thomas McCollum, the first round choice of the Detroit Red Wings in the 2008 NHL draft, turned away 33 shots for the win, while Plymouth netminder Matt Hackett finished with 45 saves.
