BRAMPTON, Ont. - Cody Hodgson scored his first two goals of the season as the Brampton Battalion blanked Peterborough Petes 4-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Patrick Killeen was solid, stopping all 43 shots for Brampton (20-23-12), while Sean Jones and Ian Watters also scored.

Jason Missiaen made 26 saves for Peterborough (25-29-3).

Hodgson, who also had an assist, was playing in just his fifth game of the season, having been out of the lineup with a back injury. He has two goals and four assists in five games.

After a scoreless opening period, Jones got the Battalion on the board, beating Missiaen on the power play one minute into the middle period.

Hodgson then vaulted the home side to a 3-0 lead on consecutive unassisted efforts at 10:37 and 13:53 of the second.

Watters rounded out the scoring with a short-handed goal on the empty net at 19:40 of the final frame.

The win brought the Battalion to within a point of the Petes and fifth place in the Eastern Conference. Brampton has two games in hand.
