Hoban completes hat trick with 37 seconds left as Broncos win 5-4 over Cougars

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Brad Hoban completed a hat trick with 37 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Swift Current Broncos to a 5-4 win over the visiting Prince George Cougars in WHL action Wednesday night.

Hoban had a goal in each period in a game which was deadlocked by period scores of 1-1 and 4-4.

Swift Current also had goals from Adam Lowry and Taylor Vause.

Martin Marincin led the Cougars offence with a goal and two assists, with Troy Bourke, Greg Fraser, and Jake Mykitiuk scoring singles.

Broncos overage netminder Jon Groenheyde turned aside 27 of 31 shots. Cougars overage goaltender Drew Owsley yielded five goals on 20 shots.

The win improves the Broncos record to 3-4-1, while Prince George drops to 3-5-1 after posting a 2-4 mark during their East Division road swing.
