Heat score three in 3rd for 3-1 win vs. Rampage; Abbotsford regains playoff spot

SAN ANTONIO - Dustin Sylvester scored the winner as the Abbotsford Heat scored three unanswered goals in the third period for a 3-1 win over the San Antonio Rampage in American Hockey League action Friday.

Ryan Howse had a power-play goal 7:01 into the third for Abbotsford (33-25-6) and Sylvester scored 1:48 later. Captain Clay Wilson added an empty-net goal in the final minute of play to round out the scoring.

Danny Taylor made 32 saves for the win.

Michal Repik was the lone scorer for San Antonio (33-25-4), while Jacob Markstrom stopped 25 shots.

The Heat were 1-for-3 on the power play, while the Rampage went 0-for-5 with the man advantage.

The win moves Abbotsford back into the Western Conference's playoff picture with 72 points, ahead of San Antonio.
