BRANDON, Man. - Andrew Hayes made 34 saves to backstop the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 3-1 victory over the Regina Pats in the final regular-season game for both Western Hockey League teams Saturday night.

Travis Hamonic, Jay Fehr and Brenden Walker provided the offence for the Wheat Kings (50-18-4), who placed first in the East Division.

Jordan Eberle, almost surely playing in his final game of junior hockey, replied with his 50th goal of the season for the Pats (30-35-7), who will miss the playoffs for the second straight year.
