CHILLIWACK, B.C. - Ryan Howse scored a hat trick to spark Chilliwack's offence and help the Bruins win for the first time in 10 games as they downed the Edmonton Oil Kings 6-2 on Friday night in the Western Hockey League.
Howse scored twice in the first period and added another midway through the third as Chilliwack (6-11-1-1) scored five goals on 10 shots to chase Oil Kings starter Torrie Jung from the net early in the second period. It was the first time since October 10 that the Bruins scored more than three goals.
David Robinson, Dylen McKinlay and Randy McNaught also scored for Chilliwack, while Jadon Potter had three assists. Tomas Vincour scored a pair for Edmonton (9-12-1-1).
Mark Friesen made 35 saves for the Bruins, while Cam Lanigan stopped eight of the nine shots he faced after replacing Jung.
