Harper scores tying goal, shootout winner as Silvertips beat Seattle

KENT, Wash. - Shane Harper scored a power-play goal late in the third period to tie the game and then had the winning shootout goal to lift the Everett Silvertips to a 2-1 victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds in Western Hockey League action Sunday.

Prab Rai opened the scoring for Seattle with a short-handed goal at 6:01 of the second period. Harper tied it with his 30th goal of the season at 16:29 of the third period.

All three Seattle shooters missed in the tiebreaker, with Harper scoring in the second round for the Silvertips.

Thomas Heemskerk made 29 saves for Everett. Chet Pickard had 30 saves for Seattle.

Everett (26-31-7-2) hadn't won in Seattle since Jan. 27, 2007 - a span of nine games.

The Thunderbirds (31-29-1-4) are 14-3-0-2 since moving from downtown Seattle to the ShoWare Center in Kent.
