Harper has goal, two assists to lead Silvertips to win over Rockets @NHLdotcom

KELOWNA, B.C. - Shane Harper had a goal and two assists as the Everett Silvertips scored an efficient and crowd-silencing 6-2 victory over the Kelowna Rockets in Western Hockey League action on Wednesday night.

Chris Langkow had a goal and an assist while Zack Dailey, rookie Josh Winquist, with his first WHL goal, Byron Froese, with a short-handed marker, and Kellen Tochkin also scored for Everett (23-16-3).

The road win was the Silvertips second in as many nights following a 5-3 decision over the Kamloops Blazers on Tuesday. Everett is also 4-0 in 2010 after ending 2009 with three straight losses.

Tyler Halliday, with a backhander, and Antoine Corbin replied for Kelowna (19-22-2), which was playing with an injury-plagued roster.

The Rockets, who have lost two in a row and seven of its last eight games, were without seven injured regulars plus top forward Brandon McMillan, who just returned from helping Canada win silver at the world junior hockey championship, and defenceman Curt Gogol, who is home in Calgary awaiting a trade.

Kent Simpson made 23 stops while Adam Brown made 31 saves for the Rockets.
