Flames defenceman Noah Hanifin will skate in the
Comm Ave Classic
for a third straight year.
The event, which takes place at the Walter Brown Arena in Boston on Aug. 24, sees Boston College and Boston University alumni face off in honour of Pete Frates, Dick Kelley, Travis Roy, and everyone who has been affected by ALS and spinal cord injuries.
All proceeds from the event will be directed to Compassionate Care ALS, Pete Frates Home Health Initiative and the Travis Roy Foundation. Since starting in 2015, the Comm Ave Classic has raised over $180,000 for charity.

Hanifin spent one season at Boston College, scoring five goals and 23 points in 37 games in 2014-15. He was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team, the Hockey East Second All-Star Team and the New England D1 All-Stars roster during his lone season in the NCAA.
The Boston, Mass. native was drafted fifth overall in the 2015 NHL Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes. He then spent three seasons in Raleigh, putting up 18 goals and 83 points in 239 games, before being acquired by the Flames on Jun. 23.
