BARRIE, Ont. - Zach Hall and Tanner Pearson each had five points as the Barrie Colts beat the Kingston Frontenacs 7-4 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.
Hall and Pearson each put up two goals and three assists for Barrie (1-0-0), which won its home opener after finishing in the league basement last year.
Colin Behenna had a goal and three assists, while Victor Terreri and Alex Yuill, playing in his first career OHL game, also scored for the Colts.
Warren Steele, with his first OHL goal, Cody Alcock, Michael Moffat and Dylan Staples responded for Kingston (0-1-0).
Kingston led the game 2-1 after the first period but the Colts scored on their first three shots of the second to pull ahead for good.
Both teams found limited success with the man advantage. Barrie finished the evening 1-for-5 on the power play while the Frontenacs were 1-for-6.
Mathias Niederberger, who played professionally last season in Germany?s top-flight hockey league, made 22 saves in his Colts debut for the win.
Blake Richard turned aside 20 shots for Kingston in defeat.
