Halifax takes 3-2 series lead after trouncing Victoriaville 7-2 @NHLdotcom

VICTORIAVILLE, Que., - Colby Pridham registered a hat trick to help lift Halifax over the Victoriaville Tigres 7-2 Saturday, giving the Mooseheads a 3-2 series lead in their QMJHL East Division quarter-final.

Justin Pender, Jakub Voracek, Peter-James Corsi and Bryce Swan, who scored his sixth of the post-season, each had goals for Halifax, which outshot the Tigres 36-22.

Jonathan Bonneau and Steven Cacciotti responded for Victoriaville, while Toby Lafrance chipped in with two assists.

Elsewhere, it was: Oceanic 5, Drakkar 2.

At Victoriaville, Que., Mark Yetman stopped 20 shot for the win, while Kevin Poulin turned aside 29 for the Tigres.

Game Six goes Monday in Halifax.

At Baie-Comeau, Que., Keven Veilleux had two goals, two assists as Rimouski beat the Drakkar to win their West Division quarter-final playoff series 4-1.

Patrice Cormier also scored for the Oceanic, while Philippe Cornet and Michael Frolik had empty-net goals.

Julius Sinkovic and Stephane Michaud replied for the Drakkar.

Jean-Christophe Blanchard made 32 saves for Rimouski.

Rimouski will play Rouyn-Noranda in the semifinal.
