Habs defencemen Markov, Schneider out at least one game with injuries @NHLdotcom

MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens will be without their top defence pair of Andrei Markov and Mathieu Schneider for Monday's game against the Ottawa Senators.

It's possible both players could also miss Tuesday night's game against the Rangers in New York.

Neither veteran skated with the team Monday morning. A decision is to be made after Monday night's game whether they will accompany the club to New York.

Both were injured in Montreal's 6-2 victory over the Maple Leafs in Toronto on Saturday night. Schneider has what the team calls an upper body injury while Markov is believed to have injured his right leg.

Defenceman Doug Janik was called up from AHL Hamilton and was matched with Ryan O'Byrne. Janik, 29, was acquired from the Dallas Stars on Feb. 26. He had played 13 games for Dallas this season.
