Habs deal Chipchura to Ducks for pick

The Anaheim Ducks have acquired center Kyle Chipchura from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a conditional fourth-round selection in the 2011 Entry Draft.

Chipchura, Montreal's first-round pick in the 2004 Entry Draft, No. 18, had appeared in 19 games for the Canadiens this season and was pointless. He had 16 penalty minutes and was minus-10.

He debuted with the Canadiens in 2007-08, scoring 4 goals and 7 assists in 36 games. In 2008-09, Chipchura had 3 assists in 13 games. His best pro season came in 2006-07 when Chipchura scored 12 goals and 27 assists for the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs. In the Calder Cup playoffs, Chipchura added an additional 6 goals and 7 assists in 22 games.
