Guggenberger backstops the Broncos to 3-1 win over Moose Jaw

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Mark Guggenberger allowed only one goal on 34 shots to help the Swift Current Broncos extend their winning streak to four games with a 3-1 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors in the Western Hockey League on Saturday night.

The Warriors scored the game's opening goal when import forward Martin Filo scored his first of the season, but the Broncos rebounded to skate to period leads of 2-1 and 3-1.

Justin Dowling got the Broncos on the scoreboard 13:04 into the first period when he beat Moose Jaw goaltender Deven Dubyk on a penalty shot. Swift Current (13-5-0-0) went ahead by a 2-1 count with 33 seconds left in the period when Keegan Dansereau scored on the power play for his team-leading 10th goal of the season.

Rookie Taylor Vause collected his third goal of the season in the second period to stretch the Broncos lead to 3-1.

Moose Jaw (5-10-0-1) rookie goaltender Deven Dubyk made 22 saves.
