Griffith scores twice as Knights take 2-0 series lead against the Spitfires

WINDSOR, Ont. - Austin Watson scored the winning goal midway through the third period as the London Knights edged the host Windsor Spitfires 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League playoff action.

Seth Griffith scored two goals, 49 seconds apart, for the Knights while Olli Maatta chipped in with two assists.

Nick Czinder scored both goals for the Spitfires, who were up 2-0 until 18:49 of the second period when Griffith scored his first of the game.

Michael Houser made 19 saves for the victory as Jaroslav Pavelka stopped 29 of 32 shots in defeat.

London went 2 for 6 on the power play while Windsor scored once on six chances of their own with the man advantage.

The Knights now lead the Western Conference first-round series 2-0 with Game 3 to take place on Monday in London at the John Labatt Centre.
