LONDON, Ont. - Seth Griffith scored three times as the London Knights crushed the visiting Erie Otters 8-2 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Adam Restoule had two goals for the Knights (1-0-0), who had their OHL championship from last season recognized with a banner raising prior to the start of the game, while Max Domi, Alex Broadhurst and Brett Welychka chipped in a goal and an assist each.
Olli Maata, Chris Tierney and Kyle Platzer had two assists apiece for London.
Connor McDavid scored his first career OHL goal and added an assist for the Otters (0-2-0).
J.P. Labardo also scored for Erie while Connor Brown assisted on both of his club's goals.
Kevin Bailie made 26 saves for the win as Oscar Dansk allowed seven goals on 39 shots against through 40 minutes of play.
Devin Williams came in for the third period and stopped 14 of 15 shots in relief.
London went 1 for 5 on the power play as Erie failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
