SEATTLE - Greg Scott scored in regulation and in a shootout to lift the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 4-3 win over the Chilliwack Bruins on Sunday.
Seattle goaltender Riku Helenius stopped all three shooters for Chilliwack to pick up the win after losing five straight times in overtime this season.
Bud Holloway tied the game with 15 seconds left in regulation to send it to overtime for Seattle, which won for the third straight time.
Matt Esposito stopped 34 shots for Chilliwack, which was outshot 37-19 in regulation and overtime.
Evan Pighin lifted a backhand shot into the top of the net at 11:18 of the third period to break a 2-2 before Holloway tied it for Seattle.
Mark Santorelli, the WHL's leading scorer, broke a 1-1 tie when scored his 18th goal of the season 32 seconds into the second period. He added an assist on Chilliwack's third goal and has 58 points this season. Ian McKenzie tied it for Seattle with a power-play goal at 17:04 of the period.
Dylan Chapman scored his first goal of the season for Chillliwack at 1:10 of the first period when he tipped in a shot. Scott tied it for the Thunderbirds at 14:06 with his 11th goal of the season.
The loss drops Chilliwack, 17-13-3-1, to 3-1 in shootouts this season and the win lifts Seattle to 14-10-5-1.
