Green scores pair as Brandon doubles up on Tigers in series opener @NHLdotcom

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. - Nathan Green scored twice and added an assist to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings over the Medicine Hat Tigers 6-3 on Saturday night to take the opening game of their Eastern Conference semifinal series in Western Hockey League playoff action.

Green, Jordan Hale, Del Cowan and Matt Calvert scored for Brandon in the second period. Green's second goal of the game and a third-period marker from Mark Stone sealed the win for the Wheat Kings.

Linden Vey, Thomas Carr and Sean Ringrose scored for the Tigers, who trailed 4-3 after 40 minutes.

Andrew Hayes stopped 28 shots in net for Brandon. Medicine Hat netminder Ryan Holfeld made 25 saves.

Game two goes Sunday night in Medicine Hat.
