Red Wings' affiliate celebrates Calder Cup with $400 McDonald's tab

Grand Rapids of AHL makes late-night fast food run following championship @NHLdotcom

Winning a championship is great, but nothing caps it quite like a late-night fast food run.

The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League celebrated their Calder Cup championship Tuesday by spending more than $400 at a local McDonald's.

Tweet from @redwinger43: So one of my coworkers was an uber driver for the Griffins last night and they had her take them to McDonald's and ordered >$400 of food

The Detroit Red Wings' affiliate won their second Calder Cup title in five seasons with a 4-3 win in Game 6 against the Syracuse Crunch. The Griffins also made sure to show appreciation for the fast-food chain's hospitality.

Tweet from @griffinshockey: Thanks for the s! #GoGRG

Grand Rapids will actually cap the celebration by honoring the Griffins with a championship parade Friday.
