BRAMPTON, Ont. - Evgeny Grachev scored twice and added and assist and Scott Tanski chipped in with a goal and two assists as the Brampton Battalion won their 11th straight game, trouncing the Eastern Conference leading Belleville Bulls 7-1 on Sunday afternoon in the Ontario Hockey League.
The Bulls only dressed one goaltender, Phillip Grubauer, as starter Mike Murphy was sick with the flu.
Jason Dale, Craig Moore, Ken Peroff and Kyle Decoste also found the net for the Battalion (13-6-0-0), who brought themselves within two points of conference-leading Belleville.
Tyler Randell scored the lone goal for the Bulls (13-6-1-1), who saw their five-game winning streak come to an end.
Despite their impressive run, the Battalion are still three wins shy of the club record for consecutive wins, as Brampton was victorious in its final 14 games to close out the 2005-06 regular season.
Patrick Killeen made 16 saves for the Battalion, while Grubauer stopped 32 shots.
