Goalie Lehtonen returns to Thrashers after missing 16 games with groin injury @NHLdotcom

ATLANTA - Atlanta Thrashers goaltender Kari Lehtonen was recalled Saturday from an AHL conditioning assignment after missing 16 games with a groin injury.

The Thrashers sent goaltender Ondrej Pavelec back to the Chicago Wolves, their American Hockey League affiliate.

Lehtonen, who opened the season as the starting goalie, was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 19. He was 0-4 before the injury and was 2-0 with a 1.92 goals-against average with the Wolves.

The Thrashers were to visit the New York Islanders on Saturday night.

Lehtonen has a career record of 58-43-9 with seven shutouts for Atlanta. He holds the franchise record for wins and shutouts.
