Claude Giroux and Brian Elliott teamed up to save the day for the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday.
Elliott and Giroux made three saves to stop sure goals in overtime just seconds before their teammate Jordan Weal scored the game-winner in Philadelphia's 2-1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes.
After Elliott made a pad stop on Hurricanes forward Jeff Skinner, he tipped Jordan Staal's chance on the rebound before Giroux batted the puck out of mid-air to keep it from going in. With Elliott out of position, Giroux then slid to deny Skinner of a sure-goal before the Flyers were able to clear.
Seconds later, Weal won it with a wrist shot that beat Cam Ward with four seconds left in the extra session.
