Giliati scores two goals as Maineiacs down Sea Dogs 4-1 in QMJHL opener

LEWISTON, Maine (CP) - Stefano Giliati scored a pair of third-period goals and added an assist as the Lewiston Maineiacs began their defence as QMJHL champions with a 4-1 win over the Saint John Sea Dogs in the league's regular-season opener on Thursday night.

Danick Hudon-Paquette and Marc-Andre Daneau also scored for Lewiston (1-0-0-0).

Payton Liske had given Saint John (0-1-0-0) the lead after the first period.

Maineiacs goalie Peter Delmas blocked 23 shots, while Travis Fullerton made 17 saves for the Sea Dogs.

The Maineiacs converted one of eight power-play opportunities and Saint John failed to score on any of their four chances.
