Gibson makes 35 saves to lead the Rangers over the Generals 3-1 @NHLdotcom

OSHAWA, Ont. - Tobias Rieder's 10th goal of the season stood as the winner as the Kitchener Rangers defeated the Oshawa Generals 3-1 Sunday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Josh Sterk and Andrew Crescenzi also scored for the Rangers (10-6-1).

Oshawa's (8-10-2) lone goal came from Scott Laughton.

John Gibson made 35 saves for the win while Dan Altshuller stopped 41 shots in defeat.

Each team was perfect on the penalty kill, with no goals scored on a combined seven power plays.

The Rangers played their second straight game without defenceman Ryan Murphy. The Carolina Hurricanes draft pick suffered an injury Friday night when he was hit by Niagara IceDogs forward Tom Kuhnhackl.
