Giants score seven straight goals, extend Thunderbirds' winless streak

KENT, Wash. - The Seattle Thunderbirds surrendered seven straight goals over the second and third periods to fall 8-3 to the Vancouver Giants and extend their winless streak to 14 games in Western Hockey League action Monday.

Seattle (14-35-9) took a 3-1 lead into the second period before Vancouver took over the game. Kevin Connauton and Milan Kytner both had two goals for Vancouver (36-20-4). James Wright, James Henry, JT Barnett and Brett Breitkreuz also scored for the Giants.

Seattle got two goals from Prab Rai, his 31st and 32nd of the season, and one from Lindsay Nielsen in the first period.

Derek Tendler came on in relief for the Giants in goal for the second period and stopped all 14 shots he faced to pick up his third win of the season.
