Getzlaf to rejoin Ducks for Wednesday's game @NHL
The Anaheim Ducks are getting their captain back.

Ryan Getzlaf will be in the lineup for the first time since Dec. 28 when the Ducks play the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday. Getzlaf hasn't played in more than a month while recovering from facial fractures he suffered when he was hit in the face by shot from Phoenix Coyotes captain Shane Doan.

Getzlaf has 13 goals and 37 points in 40 games this season. His return only will embolden a team that entered the week sixth in the Western Conference with 62 points. They're just three points behind Pacific Division-leading Dallas for third in the conference, but only four points ahead of 12th-place Colorado.

In Getzlaf's absence, the Ducks have gone 10-4-0, but the Canucks game will be the first of a three-game road trip through western Canada.

"Now that he's back in the lineup, we think that gives us more depth in scoring," Ducks coach Randy Carlyle told the team's web site. "He's a big part of our team and is our captain. We know his compete level and conditioning level will be there. He's ready to go."
