Kale Clague has succeeded and produced offensively at every level. Now, as a defenseman trying to earn himself an everyday spot in the Kings lineup, Clague, a Regina, Saskatoon native continues to try to do whatever it takes to stay up with the big club.

Clague started turning heads with his youth career, Clague's professional career start when the defenseman was draft sixth overall in the Western Hockey League (WHL) to the Brandon Wheat Kings. With the Wheat Kings, Clague showed off his offensive talent as a defenseman and recorded 143 points (25-118=143) in 174 games. During his tenure with the Wheat Kings, in the 2015-16 season, Clague won the Ed Chynoweth Cup (WHL Championship) alongside NHL notables Nolan Patrick and Ivan Provorov.
Nationally, Clague's work on the ice was also recognized by Hockey Canada when he was selected to both the 2017 and 2018 World Junior Championships. In 13 tournament games, Clague recorded eight points (0-8=8), including leading all defenseman in the 2017 WJC tournament with six assists. In his two WJC appearances, Clague took home a silver medal (2017) and gold medal (2018).
Following the WHL championship season, Clague was drafted by the LA Kings in second round, 51st overall. Clague would go back to the WHL for one more season with the Moose Jaw Warriors before arriving in Los Angeles at the Kings HQ. Clague spent the 2018-19 and 2019-20 season's in Ontario and has been a large part of the Reign's blue line. In two seasons, Clague has tallied 54 points (15-39=54) in 101 games.

Last season, Clague made his NHL debut with the Kings on December 21st when the Kings faced off against the Buffalo Sabres. Clague appeared in three more games with the Kings last season before returning to Ontario for the reminder of the season. In doing so, Clague's stand-out play earned himself an AHL All-Star appearance. This year, Clague has appeared in as many games with the Reign as he has with the Kings, 18 a piece. Now, the 22-year-old looks to cement himself into an LA Kings uniform.
