OSHAWA, Ont. - On a night when Oshawa celebrated the career of hockey legend Bobby Orr, the Generals put on a show for one of the best player the franchise has ever seen.
Five different Generals scored goals and Neil Conway made 31 saves as the Generals defeated the Peterborough Petes 5-1 on Ontario Hockey League action Thursday.
The win came after the club retired the No. 2 jersey of the legendary Orr in front of 6,253 at the General Motors Centre.
Brett Parnham, Kory Nagy, Jeff Hayes, Jeff Brown and Tyler Taylor each scored for Oshawa (12-11-0-3), while Calvin de Haan added a pair of assists.
Pat Daley scored the only Peterborough goal, while Ryan Daniels stopped 28 for the Petes (12-15-0-1), who went 1-for-6 on the power play, while blanking the Generals on their two chances with the man advantage.
