Generals clinch playoff spot with 5-2 win over Battalion @NHLdotcom

BRAMPTON, Ont. - Lucas Lessio had a goal and an assist as the Oshawa Generals defeated the host Brampton Battalion 5-2 on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey Legaue action.

With the victory, Oshawa became the seventh team to clinch a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Daniel Maggio, Nicklas Jensen, Scott Laughton and Christian Thomas also scored for the Generals (30-28-6), who won their third straight game.

Mitchell Porowski had a goal and an assist for the Battalion (34-22-10), who sit fourth in the East, while Ian Watters added a single goal.

Kevin Bailie made 24 saves for the win as Matej Machovski allowed five goals on 21 shots in defeat.

Oshawa went 1 for 5 on the power play while Brampton failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
